Prado

Dr. Alfonso Prado has a long and distinguished medical career, which includes founding Neonatology Consultants of Corpus Christi nearly 30 years ago. Dr. Prado received his medical education at the National University of Trujillo, Peru. He completed his medical residency in Peru and finished his medical internship at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York in 1969.

By 1971, Dr. Prado was a Fellow and Chief Resident in Neonatology at the University of Texas Medical School. The next four years, he worked as an instructor and assistant professor at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio. He served as Director of Neonatology at Driscoll Children’s Hospital for 27 years until 2003 and subsequently was appointed as Medical Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital South.

Dr. Prado is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and Neonatal Perinatal Medicine.
